Linwood School is approved by the Maryland State Department of Education to operate a Type I full day and residential Special Education and related services program for students with autism and multiple disabilities that supports the educational programming for students Elementary (Grades 1 through 8) and Nongraded (Ages 6 through 21).
Individuals considered for admission to Linwood must receive special education services and have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Our referrals come from the local school systems (LSS). After we receive referral documents, our admission team reviews the individual’s records to determine eligibility that includes a parent tour and meeting with the team. If accepted, Linwood contacts the referring LSS to begin our intake process.
Student profiles are consistent with or similar to those on the Autism spectrum as well as other developmental disabilities such as intellectual disability.
