Adult Services
Linwood is one of just a very few programs in the United States that provides a full range of comprehensive services and program continuity for individuals living with autism throughout their lifespan. With our ongoing support, people living with autism develop the skills they need to lead extraordinary lives. Supported employment in integrated settings, vocational training, recreation, volunteerism, community involvement and community-based residential services are all possibilities for our adult services program participants, regardless of their unique challenges.
Day Habilitation and Employment Services
For individuals who have not been matched to an appropriate job or volunteer activity in the community, Linwood’s Day Habilitation Program provides opportunities for developing functional skills that can be used every day.
We believe people living with autism, like all individuals, deserve the opportunity and have the right to work in an integrated environment with peers regardless of their abilities. Over the years, we’ve demonstrated that in a structured and supportive environment, individuals living with autism can engage in productive work in community settings and develop the employment and social skills they need to succeed in the job market.
Residential Services
Our community-based Residential Services Program operates 14 homes in Ellicott City, Columbia and Catonsville. Most support three individuals, and all have staff onsite at all times. Awake overnight services and one-to-one behavioral supports are available to individuals who need them. Staff members assist residents as they develop the daily routines necessary for them to work, use community resources and make connections outside their homes. Each home has a van to take residents to community activities and appointments.
